"My wish for the future is that “education” embraces making and digital authorship as a core strategy and value for creating life long self learners."
After graduating from Carnegie Mellon's Electrical and Computer Engineering program and a brief brush with computer hardware design at IBM, Chris carved out a career for himself in interactive software development. An ambitious dreamer, avid gamer and masterful programmer, Chris creates games because he loves them. He is a true believer in the medium, and he is devoted to making Beta the best that it can be.
"We listen to music, we watch movies, and we read books... but we INTERACT with games. When a consumer issues a command to a game, it can respond! Never mind that games can also have stunning visuals, eclectic soundtracks, and amazing stories; these systems of multidirectional interaction are what separate gaming from all other mediums. It is magical, and not just in regards to entertainment. The positive impact that games can have on education is just beginning to be explored, and it is our goal to contribute to this discussion with the introduction of Beta. "
Between music and computer systems, Dave is not sure what he loves more. He's been a Jazz and Classical Trombonist for over 30 years and doing Computer Programming and Database Administration for over 25 years. The collision of these two areas of expertise enables Dave to see very complex patterns in large sets of data. He designs data warehouses and reports for IQ Bytes.
"Both areas give me great satisfaction in there ability to engage both my logical and creative improvisational sides. What is amazing is that I am able to incorporate both areas easily working at IQ Bytes."
